The melodies of this story follow the cultural landscapes of Guinea Conakry.

The chosen rhythms come from diverse cultural rootsMalinké, Landuma, Manian, and Baga — forming an artistic and geographical harmony that runs throughout the tale and connects the people of West Africa through sound.
They are part of the legacy of master drummer Mamady Keïta, whose teachings shaped the rhythmic foundation of this project.

The music celebrates the strength and sensitivity of the feminine, present in many West African dances and songs — expressions of joy, sharing, and transmission across generations.

In this story, the kora, traditionally the instrument of the griots, becomes an instrument of feminine resonance — an inner voice linking the body, the heart, and the memory of the ancestors.

Through it, Malissa explores the creative power of the feminine, the connection with nature, and the living memory of African culture.
